A favorite summer travel is to visit Uncle Tim on Oahu. the Little Hawaiian cook book brings me right back to “pineapple juice from the sky”, big flowers, geckos and laua. We were fortunate enough to stay at the Hilton (the hotel with the rainbow on the side. the Hilton often shows up in Hawaii 5-0.

Food and gatherings as the books forward says – goes together. One of the favorite ‘ohana get-together we had a family spam cooking competition (mama won for taste and presentation).

the Little Hawaiian has a delightful collection of recipes shared by Hawaiian families.
