Travelers Culinary Adventure: Seared Salmon worth the detour : Papillion’s Pine and Black Bistro

From the road – where unexpected turns lead to flavor.

While traveling, I came across a dish well prepared. At Pine & Black, a modern bistro tucked into the city’s edge, the standout is the seared sockeye salmon with miso ginger glaze – a dish that deserves to be sought out, even if it means a few miles.
Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender at the center, the salmon is seared enough to catch the flame and add a bit of char sealing in the buttery richness. this miso ginger glaze adds the depth that drew me in. slightly sweet, subtle smoky.
No surprise to learn the Pine and Black’s talent hails from the North West. they have brought their coastal intuition with them – an ability to let great ingredients speak with out overcomplication.

It is the kind of dish that turns a stop into a story – and a meal into a memory.
