Coincidentally Bob recently celebrated his birthday. He has refined his cooking prowess over the time that i have known him. When asked what is he going to explore next (I thought travel) – he answer was sauces. It could have been anything – however that was where his mind and the conversations went. I explored the idea of getting for his birthday the Saucier’s Apprentice A Modern Guide to Classic French Sauces for the Home and the Saucier’s Apprentice: One Long Strange Trip through the Great Cooking Schools of Europe, maybe Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential…. All are must reads.
However for Bobs culinary journey is it must continue with Le Repertoire De La Cuisine. It is a shorthand guide to sauces and sauce garnish. It is in my toolbox. Keep Cooking Robert. Happy Birthday.
