Pizza Dough for COV19 Fridays

Step – By -Step Pizza Dough
recipe makes 1-3/4 pounds of Dough.
Equipment
- a large bowl
- small bowl
Ingredients
- 1/4 Ounce One package of dry active yeast
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1-1/2 cups Warm water
- 3-1/4 cups unbleached four prefer bread flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions
- in the small bowl, combine the yeast and sugar. Add warm water (~ 110 F)
- if the yeast does not bubble with in 5 minutes. Discard and start again.
- Combine the 3 cups of the flour and salt in the large bowl. Make a well in the flour and add the yeast and olive oil.
- Stir until the mixture comes together. Begin at the center and work to the edges.
- turnout the dough onto a lightly floured surface
- knead the dough and add enough of the remaining flour until the dough is not longer sticky. about 10 minutes.
- shape the dough into a large ball and back into the large ( lightly oiled) bowl.
- cover the bowl and set in a warm place. let the dough rise until approximately doubled.
- punch down the dough and reshape into a ball. cover with plastic and refrigerate until doubled. 20 minutes to an hour.
- divide into portions ~ 7 of equal weight (4 ounces each). Freeze what you dont use.
Notes
during COV19 i find that i grill more that before. think about grilling this dough on the grill outside.
Just saying – Pizza Friday should not be devoid due to social distancing.
