Travelers Culinary Journey A home town favorite

On my trip back through Denver, I made a point to stop at one of my longtime hometown favorites, City Park Tavern. Some places simply know how to make you feel welcome, and this is one of them.

This visit called for their Eggs Benedict, a dish that reminds me why classic comfort food never goes out of style. The real star is the rich, velvety hollandaise sauce, made the way it should be. It is the kind of sauce that would make any home cook proud.

The soft egg was cooked perfectly, releasing its golden center with the first cut. Paired with fresh avocado and generously napped with hollandaise, each bite delivered that balance of richness and flavor that turns a simple breakfast into a memorable meal.

There is something special about returning home and finding that the places you remember are still serving the dishes you love. City Park Tavern continues to be one of those places. Good food, familiar surroundings, and a breakfast Benedict that keeps me coming back whenever I am in town.

Sometimes the shortest stops become the most satisfying parts of the journey.
